Sucesos notables : [Spain] : ms., [ca. 1600-1607].

A previously unknown and unedited history covering the years 1567-1600 (originally 1607, cf. prologue and v. 8, f. 1490). It is ordered by way of annals, in three parts. The beginning of each part contains a succinct summary of its contents and the end contains a table-summary of the chapters. The "Sucesos" are not limited to Spain, but also mention Japan, Vietnam (Conchinchina), Philippines, Moscow, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, France, Italy, England, Germany, and the Ottoman Empire. In the dedication, the author declares to have authored 10 books that deal with Spain and the four parts of the world (Europe, Asia Minor and Major, Africa, and the New World). The prologue states that the history commences with the year 1567 and makes abundant use of Florián de Ocampo (Crónica de España, printed for the first time in 1541), Ambrosio de Morales (continuation of the Ocampo work, published in 1574), and Antonio de Herrera Tordesillas (among whose work includes the Descripción de las Indias Occidentales, first printed in 1601). The author indicates that he also drew from oral testimonies of persons who were present during narrated events, as well as from Italian, French, and Spanish historical sources.
